Every city has its own story of street food which turns out to be arguably more delicious than even the best gourmet meals.
In Kampala we don’t do just street food, we make restaurants on the road side. Why? Because we have manners ha! We like to eat sitting down and letting the food digest.
A Rolex stand is at every corner (yup we eat Rolex) a quick meal of an omelette stuffed with vegetables wrapped in chapatti. Even more popular is a sliced chapatti and bean soup meal hilariously called “kikomando” because its meant for the tough like commandos (you know, Terminator style) .
To kick it up a notch, in the evenings large pots over glorious fires make their debut boiling cow legs, Yams, beans etc affordable home cooked meals at less than $1.
Hits the streets will you! There’s no reservations needed
