Kamianets-Podilskyi

I want to tell you a little about my Ukraine. About one of my favorite cities, rich in history and cultural monuments, as well as with unique terrain and wonderful people living in this city. This is the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi. This is an ancient city, its first mention was in 1072. This city is associated with historical events during the times of Austria-Hungary, Romania, the Kingdoms of Poland and Lithuania and many nationalities that gave this city its historical value and charisma. A natural canyon in the form of a circle separates the “old city” from modern buildings in the “new city”. All historical value, of course, is located in the center of the “old city”. It can only be reached through bridges located in opposite directions. The canyon itself is approximately 20-40 meters high, and a river flows at the bottom of the canyon. Unfortunately, I arrived in the city on a cloudy day. On a sunny day everything is emotionally richer. But even the weather didn’t stop me from enjoying this historical place. Of course, the most important attraction of the city is its fortress. The fortress was built by the Lithuanian princes Koriatovichi. The approximate date of construction is 1337. In the “old city” there are many churches of different denominations and religions. The churches are all active and parishioners constantly come to them. The variety of national dishes in the city is striking in its diversity. All this abundance can be tasted in the city’s restaurants. Coffee is the main drink of local residents. Of course, for tourists there are bazaars where you can buy both local food and souvenirs.

My advice to you. View photos on a personal computer or tablet with a large diagonal. If you double-click on the photo, it will expand to full screen.
