Kadalekayi Parishe - The annual peanut fair

This peanut fair popularly known as “Kadalekayi Parishe” happens every year during the month of November or Karthik Masa in local language i.e., Kannada. All the peanut growing farmers come with their bags of all types of peanuts to this place called Basavanagudi. It lasts for 3 days in the last week of November. Starting from Monday and ends on Wednesday.

Gulkan Bun at the Kadalekayi Parishe, Basavanagudi.

Gulkan is made from rosepetals and tastes sweet. It can also be used as a jam and is considered very healthy. It’s also tasty. :slightly_smiling_face: :yum:

Hi @Nyainurjanah , we as in citizens don’t grow peanuts in our gardens. At this fair, the peanut farmers & cultivators from all parts of rural Karnataka bring the groundnuts in huge gunny bags to sell. It has a cultural importance & history behind it.

Hi @soww_aj where the place is it?
