June special reward: available for every countries of the world but France ?

I wonder if it’s an error or not, there is no information about excluded country.

Con cerning the June special reward I find every countries but France.

is it normal ?

Are we the only country that can’t receive it ?

@BBoris I haven’t heard anything about any country restriction, but I know a few Local Guides that didn’t get the reward from various countries. Just for your info, the reward information, should you get it, is included in the monthly activity email for June. Have you got a chance to take a look at the email? Also maybe ask some Local Guides you know in France to see if they got the reward?

Also, considering that the reward was released during weekend, most likely we won’t be getting for more official info until Monday at the earliest.

@iyudhi there is no information on the email, it just says that I have unlocked the reward and that I can redeem it but I don’t find my country in the dropdown.

I don’t know any local guide to ask

@BBoris ok so you did get the email. France being excluded in the drop-down box might be a bug then. We will need one of the Google Moderators to take a look at it on Monday once they’re back in the office.

@BBoris just want to let you know that the Local Guides team is currently looking into this. They might update here once they find out what’s going on, or I’ll do the same if I find out first.

@BBoris This community is constantly monitored by Connect Moderators (volunteers from the community) and Google Moderators (Google employees). The best approach to report issues is by creating a post in the ‘How-to’ board like what you did for this issue. I just happened to know that your issue is currently being looked at by the team.

ok thank you, Code expires on July 31, 2021 ; I hope they wont be too long to add a country in a dropdown…

@BBoris Which browser did you use to claim the code? If you were using Chrome, can you try using Edge browser? Another user was having the same issue, and they were able to resolve by copying the URL (with pre-filled code) from Chrome to Edge browser. If that doesn’t work, might be worth trying Incognito, or other browsers like Firefox. Can you give it a shot and let us know if it works?

@iyudhi I just tried with chrome, firefox and edge, the dropdown is the same and miss France country :tired_face:

If the dropdown data is received by a request to API, I don’t think changing browser could fix it

is there is a local URL for french countries ? I tried with /fr_fr; /fra but it didn’t works

@BBoris My apologies, I was confusing myself with another issue. You’re right in this case it won’t matter which browser is used since the country data is stored in the server.

only 3 days left and no info, look like they don’t mind and wont fix it :expressionless:

@BBoris I’m sorry for the wait, but the Local Guides team is currently working on it, and they also understand the time sensitive nature of the issue. I will update if I find out more.

I’m not sure “they are working on it”… it’s just a dropdown, they don’t need 15 days to fix a dropdown missing a country…

Was a fun idea, too bad they didn’t mention that French peoples can’t get it.

If they know there is a problem, I don’t really understand why they didn’t even communicate about how to redeem the code and get around the bug.

@BBoris I’m just a messenger, and I’ve been told directly that they’re working on it. I’ve been trying to get updates periodically, but until this reply is written, there’s no further news.

It’s getting close to weekend and you’re right, July 31st is the deadline. I just want to say I sympathize with the situation, but I don’t really have anything that can help on this matter at this point.

I will definitely update here once I hear anything back from the team.
