JULY INSPIRATION- NAIROBI ART GALLERIES

Hey guys,

I love July as it is my birthday month (I’m still accepting gifts and wishes ;-)). The last month has been nothing short of spectacular for me. I usually go to go to art galleries to draw inspiration/find my happy place but this month it was different, I just did for the heck of it, to have uninhibited fun through interacting with the artworks and artists.

I visited the Polka Dot Art Gallery which is situated at the Souk in Karen, Nairobi, right opposite The Hub Mall. It was established by a lady called Laura Ray who is an art lover. They have monthly showcases featuring both local and international artists. The gallery space is also usually up for renting for events such as creative workshops. Art classes like drawing, sculpting and painting are also available.

On the particular day I visited, I was wowed by the quality of artworks that were been exhibited by the local artists, it felt really authentic and reflected the lives of local Kenyans in both cities, rural and peri-urban areas.

Below are some of the pieces that resonated with me.
