A female octopus incubating eggs that I photographed on a marine walk in the Rocky part of Juhu beach at Juhu Koliwada. The body was not more than 4" long, it’s tentacles being slightly longer than the body.
When I first saw it the tentacles were tucked beneath the body and it took a few minutes before we realized that we had stumbled on to a Octopus!
While there is an abundance of marine life along the coast, a breeding octopus has not been reported from here.
Juhu Koliwada is at the southern end of a long and beautiful sandy beach which stretches north to the Versova Creek.
