I have visited Dallas, TX few times around 2014-2015. Here is a compilation of some of the pictures I captured and places I visited during those trips.
- Old Red Museum
This Museum is located right next to John F Kennedy Memorial.
Old Red Museum was built in 1892, this is a beautiful structure. This is a restored old court house, contains Dallas’s historical artifacts. There is a fee to visit the Museum,
- JFK Memorial
JFK Memorial was erected in 1970 in the West end Historic district of downtown Dallas.
This was designed by architect Philip Johnson.
“The memorial, a square, roofless room, 30 feet high and 50 by 50 feet wide, sits in the middle of the block with narrow openings facing north and south. The walls consist of 72 white pre-cast concrete columns, most of which seem to float with no visible support 29 inches above the ground”
There is no fee to visit this memorial
- The Grapevine Vintage Railroad
The Grapevine Vintage Railroad - located in the heart of Historic Downtown Grapevine - offers a unique experience on authentic 1920s Victorian coaches.
Apart from standard Train ride they also offer special event train rides like Adults only Jazz Wine Train and Family friendly North Pole Express.
- AT&T Stadium (Dallas Cowboys Stadium)
AT&T Stadium, formerly Cowboys Stadium, is a retractable roof stadium in Arlington, Texas, United States. It serves as the home of the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL) and was completed on May 27, 2009. I took a tour of the stadium during one of my visit to Dallas.
Interestingly one of my picture I posted this year on Google Maps is the Cover photo of AT&T Stadium, which has received more than 5.3 Million views. So far this picture has received 4th highest views among the pictures I have submitted to Google Maps.
When I first came to USA in 1993, Dallas Cowboys was a power house in NFL. In fact they won 3 Super bowls in mid 90s. (1993,1994, 1996) My home team San Francisco 49ers spoiled their 3peat in 1995. There was fierce rivalry between Cowboys and 49ers during mid 90s.
- Old Texas Rangers Stadium
On my trip I watched a Baseball game here. This is a 25 Year old Stadium, looks like they are looking for new Tenants. Globe Life Park now hosts the XFL team the Dallas Renegades and the North Texas Soccer Club.
