Jembatan Satu Duit is a the name of a bridge over Ciliwung river.
This bridge have a significant role for Bogor citizens long years ago befor road construction of Jalan Pajajaran and Jagorawi tol.
Jembatan Satu Duit become the only access to enter Bogor city from Jakarta and Nohern area of Bogor.
In that era passing this bridge in the night is very challenging, due to the lighting elictricity and very rare public transportation.
Passing the bridge over 8 pm, is very very challeging.
Some people beleive that if you want to pass the bridge safely you should throw one duit or satu duit to the river.
Duit is Dutch bronze coin.
One Gulden (Goldier or aproximately 0.56 US dollar) is 160 duit.
The other story about this Jembatan Satu Duit came that Dutch people call this bridge “de witte brug”, the White bridge because the white paint of the bridge.
Local peuple cannot pronounce it correctly so they call it dewit or duit, Jembatan Duit.
Nowadays not so many people know the existing of the bridge except in the rainy season when the Ciliwung river is spill over to this bridge.

I have unforgetten moment whent I should pass the bridge in the middle of heavy rain and the Cilliwung river bellow is floding.

pak @BudiFXW , saya berulang kali melewatinya akan tetapi saya baru kalau namanya Duit. Jadi ingat di Papua , ada nama marga yang serupa yaitu marga DUWITH.

Hello @BudiFXW my friend. Not a bad post at all. Interesting story about throwing a coin into the river as well. Is that for a goddess in the water or what? Just being curious really. We had that kind of thing in Senegal during one of my travels. You throw in a coin into the water but the children around dive in to get it just for fun. Thanks for the post.

keren nih jembatan apalagi kuncen-nya ciliwung @RiverDefender yang ngga ada habisnya menggerakan orang untuk saling bahu membahu membersihkan sungai Ciliwung khususnya wilayah Bogor

@RiverDefender and Komunitas Peduli Ciliwung, the community that taking care of the condition of Ciliwung river, frequently clean up the river and the under construction of Jembatan Satu Duit, to ensure there are no trash or bamboo or big root of three that trapped in the steel construction that will jeoperdize the bridge construction.

Wah sering banget lewatin Jembatan situ duit ini pak @BudiFXW , waktu itu aq sama beberapa Local guides juga pernah kumpul disana pas acaranya mas @RiverDefender seruuuu bangeett udh kaya liat air terjun , menjelajah kaya si “Bolang”
