James River is a dynamic naturescape which flows through the center of Virginia and is home to species not found in many other places, such as the river otter.
Here in Richmond, this river rapidly changes from flat Class 1 rapids to Class 3 and 4 rapids as it flows through the heart of downtown.
pictured here is the James River flat water park which is the last and section of flatwater before the fall line, aka rapids. I enjoy coming out here almost daily with my black lab and my stand-up paddle board as we smoke a cigar and watch the sunset.
