Jallianwala Bagh is a darkest part of India’s Freedom struggle - during the time when British used to rule India. It is the site (a park) where a massacre was carried by British forces upon Indian civilians.
The civilians gathered there to protest against the atrocities carried out by British administration on Indians.
It took place on 13 April 1919 on the day of Baisakhi - the day which is considered as the beginning of New Year for Punjabi people. Jallianwala Bagh is situated in the city of Amritsar in Punjab, India. It is near to the famous Golden Temple.
Now, it has been transformed into a memorial by the Government of India and many people visit here to pay their respect.
This year (2019) marks the 100th anniversary of this massacre. A candle light march was also held by the authorities.
Here, I’m sharing with you all the pictures I took during my visit to this site.
