Residents of Jakarta seemed to have been forgotten by the tunnel that was once dark, slum, often flooded. The tunnel that used to be used by motorized drivers to turn around, now preening into an iconic city pedestrian.
The Jalan Kendal Tunnel is a manifestation of the harmonization of various public transportation that combines access to Sudirman Station, BNI City Station, and Dukuh Atas MRT Station. DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has now changed the function of Jalan Kendal, Menteng, Central Jakarta in order to realize the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) area.
