Your intention is noble.
However, you will not come to know the Local Guides from your region, upfront.
To achieve your goal, the following are the alternatives.
Search the Connect site for the LGs in your region. You can use the search box at the top & look for the persons writing about Jaco or any other tourist locations nearby.
Look for the reviews in Maps of the prominent places in your city. Some persons out of those may have created a post here. However, people usually adopt a different screen name here & the search may not result in any actual output.
Set up a real or virtual meetup. The interested persons may join your invitation.

I believe there are fellow Local Guides from your area here on Connect. I suggest searching the community for mentions of the city you are living in to find posts that have that name in the title, body of the post, or the location tag. Feel free to jump into those threads and connect with Local Guides in your area.
