Jackfruit; one of my Favorite Fruit

Jackfruit, locally called “Kathal” in Bengali “কাঁঠাল”; one of my favorite fruit, this is also National fruits of Bangladesh. It’s a summer time fruit and grows everywhere in Bangladesh. Especially, jackfruit grows very well in three places in Bangladesh like: Savar (Dhaka), Gazipur and Bhaluka (Mymensingh).

Hello @AbdullahAM ,

Thank you for sharing this interesting fruit with us.

It’s the first time ever I see such a fruit, wonder how it tastes and if it could be accompanied by something else in a dish!

Hello @BorrisS

Thank you for comments,

Jackfruits is a delicious and it has a very nice and strong smell that makes your mouth watering to have it. It’s a very common fruit and found everywhere in Bangladesh and very cheaper though.

You can’t finish a single jackfruit, you need at least 4-5 persons to finish a single fruit.

We can have only fruit or have with puffed rice or have make it juice then mix with rice and milk-it’s a delicious menu.

Nice to see you with Jackfruit. Do you know Jackfruit is the state fruit of Kerala?

In our native, Kerala it is called ‘chakka’.
