Iwayama Observatory, the best night view spot in Morioka

The monthly topic of January 2020 is Good places for watching the night view. I’ll introduce a good place in my region to you.

Iwayama Observatory

There are a lot of stargazing spots in Iwate. But if you want to see the best night view in Iwate, you must go to Iwayama Observatory. From this observatory, we can look over Morioka, the biggest city in Iwate along with Mt. Iwate. Can you find the shape of Mt. Iwate in this photo?

Citizens of Iwate love this place. They come out here day and night to see the view, hiking and enjoying a conversation.

Kajima Seiichi Memorial Observatory

And the neighboring building, Kajima Seiichi Memorial Observatory is also my recommended spot for seeing the night view. You are able to see the city from a higher and wider place than Iwayama observatory.

岩手にはきれいな星空を見ることの出来る場所がたくさんありますが、やはり広く親しまれている夜景スポットと言えばこの岩山展望台です。盛岡市には高層ビルなどはありませんが、岩手山と一緒に町を一望できるこのスポットは昼夜問わず人気があります。

また、同じ場所にある鹿島精一記念展望台もおすすめです。夜にはライトアップもされており、より開けた場所から街を見下ろすことができます。ライトが強力なため写真撮影には向いていないのだけは難点かもしれません。

きれいな夜景ですね。

星空という今月のトピックはちょっと難しかったのでパスです。

プラネタリウムでもよかったんですが、標準時子午線上にある明石市立天文科学館は時計の部分が軽く工事中だったので断念。

兵庫県の西播磨天文台で研究している方に偶然出会ったのでそこにでもしようかと思ったりもしたんですが、開館日の日程が限られるときた。岡山県の美星天文台も遠いしってことで本格断念。

夜景なら掬星台から見ることのできる神戸阪神の夜景がきれいですけどね。

I like stargazing it was what I did when I was much younger. I knew how beautiful it could be. The city Morioka look so nice even in night sky.

Wow amazing photos! The second one is by far my favorite. Such precision and sharpness to it. Night photography can be really to pull. I know I’ve tried it many times. You need a great camera, which one are you using?

I think it’s relaxing to go on top of the entire city where it’s quiet and see all the lights. Really beautiful!
