I've added a new playground to Google Maps, status is pending for two weeks

This summer I’ve visited a few freshly new built playgrounds in Hamburg, Germany, which also happen to be the first ones with an integrated Parkour park (Hooray!).

I’ve took pictures showing the playground and its surroundings and also a bunch of sphere panoramas all with accurate geolocation and bearings. Then I’ve created a place with name, address, category and opening hours and pictures and waited for approval. Then I also uploaded all the sphere panoramas using the Google Street View app. However unlike the other playgrounds, this new playground built by playparc, located at 53.48845762011233, 10.146047065761392 never got approved and is still “Pending” for two weeks.

I understand that fellow local guides can verify places, but what actually happens is that many members of the Parkour community in Hamburg were trying to locate this place and couldn’t find it on Google Maps; thus constantly ask me and others to get directions. I’m not aware of anyone here in Hamburg who does Parkour and being an active Local Guide. Most of them resorted to using other apps to take pictures and tag locations.

I hope you can understand my frustration.

Hi @Bjorn-Eberhardt

Actually, it is very seldom that new places are verified by humans. Make sure there is a link to a website for the playground. Maybe the Municipality has a map where you can grap the link to info on this particular playground. And make sure to use the same name.

Please read Why is my edit status “Pending” or “Not Applied”? if you haven’t already done so.

You may also find How to make sense of Google’s responses to your edits interesting since Approved, Not applied, and Pending are explained in more detail.

If you need to share the location urgently you can always use a Google My Maps.

Cheers
