It's World's Food Day: Share Your Best Cuisine Photos Yet!

World’s Food Day (WFD), also known as International Day of Food is celebrated every year throughout the world on the 16th October. It is observed in over 150 countries and has been since 1979 when it was first established. It takes different themes every year.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the Theme for this year’s observation is: “Our Actions Are Our Future, Healthy Diets for a #ZeroHunger World”, a slight tweak from last year’s theme.

This observance is mainly to reflect on the issues around food security, and raising awareness about world hunger and poverty as part of the Sustainable Development (SDG) Goals to eradicate hunger by 2030.

In commemoration of this, I ask that you share your best photos yet of your local cuisines from all different countries represented here on Connect. Let’s feed our eyes with the best photos of intercontinental dishes from our amazing Local Guides around the globe.

Hi @IsaacUnlimited

You know what I truly appreciate such informative articles and feel great to be able to get enlightened every other day.

The Mix Nigerian Cuisine looks super tempting!

Does this count?

These multi-color veggies are going in right in the oven for a delicious Pasta treat.

@Mayford fried peppers, green salad with balsamic sause, and tzatziki . Everything is cooked with Greek extra virgin olive oil. I was waiting for the fish .

Thanks for the reply. Indeed it’s a greattt meal. There are various types of food and few being very traditional and preparation process is very tedious, it’s not commonly available in restaurants.

Hi @IsaacUnlimited,

I really like these challenges, thanks for sharing!

I’d like to show a traditional Hungarian and a Bulgarian dish. I can’t choose which one I like better.

@IsaacUnlimited I’m on vacation, in Oberstdorf, Germany now. I would like to join you but the plate is from Germany. It is Currywurst, my favorite German dish.

Here, I think @TorM might like it too. ?

This is nice @Stella2 . Here, we use olive for cleansing and healing and skin treatment. It’s amazing there’s usefulness for it in cooking. Can I guess the fish? Salmon or Croaker? :slightly_smiling_face:

Wow! This is amazing @Petra_M . Truly, it’s a hard choice between the two haha. I love creams and I’m leaning towards the first picture lol. :slightly_smiling_face: Thank you for giving us a peek into this traditional Hungarian dish. I’m salivating already.
