It's the Little Things

It might sound super simple, but I really just like to talk about the places I love. I’m a person of many passions (maybe even a jack-of-all-passions), so it’s hard for me to say that there’s one specific thing I love sharing. If a place is good and I enjoy it, I want others to know about it!

This is obviously very exciting and gratifying to do for a place that’s new, or for some hidden local gem. I love seeing the businesses I frequent and rave about become popular and successful, especially since it’s so hard nowadays for the little guys to succeed. Restaurant turnover is super quick, and it’s hard for small shops to compete with big box stores. I love being able to help the businesses I love by providing good publicity.

But even for well established places, it’s still satisfying to provide information and reviews. I won’t pretend to be a trendsetter, so many of the places I visit have pretty high ratings and plenty of reviews. I still like to provide info and photos and a rating anyway. Because who knows, maybe that one photo or comment I make will be the difference between someone deciding to go there or not.

Does anyone else feel the same way, or take a similar approach to guiding? Or, do you prefer to really hone in on something?
