It's never too late to search for what you want

When I graduated in Post Graduate in 2016, there was an interesting subject that I could not take, namely e-commerce. That is important because of the demands of my work. During the course of time in 2018, my son received an invitation via my email to attend the “Guide to Digital Marketers Like a Professional” Seminar. I don’t know if this seminar is the same as an e-commerce course. I think that there is no harm in learning new things. I checked the work schedule and it turned out that at that time I could come. I immediately registered to replace my child, because my child is only 9 years old. At the seminar I was familiar with the term Local Guide. Hem … interesting. But I did not immediately register as a local guide, because I was busy as a worker, a mother with 2 boys, caring for my husband suffering from diabetes and my brother suffering from parkison.

And finally in October 2019, I had a lot of time because of school children outside the city and boarding school, and I was used to treating both diabetes and Parkinson’s. I began to follow the Local Guide program step by step. And … Incredibly, it turns out that without me realizing Google maps always follow where I went and I often help answer short questions about the state of the local location I visited (wow … first it really bothers me!). There are even some places that are still waiting for my review, but I feel unsure whether I really visited the place.

I have several friends as business owners such as restaurants, tourist attractions and hotels. Their place of business gets comments or reviews from local Guides in the form of questions or provide very useful input for the progress of their company’s services. Usually I contacted them via WhatsApp and asked: “Did you know that your place of business has a public spotlight on the Local Guides program?” In general, they answered that they did not know the Local Guide program (although they always use google maps to find the destination). Then I offered to help answer questions in the Local Guide Program without getting paid. And the result was they refused my offer on the grounds that our place of business already had its own management and had instragam. Ok … maybe next time if there is a chance to meet I will show the Local Guide program to them.

Within 3 months I joined the local Guide Program, I reached rank 6. I am happy to know the number of people who have been helped by my reviews and photos. As the saying goes ‘Your true quality is that you keep doing good when others don’t see’. What Local Guides do is not in vain. Thank you Local Guides Team
