Dhakai Parota -
This multi crispy layerered puffy football Parantha (less Parantha and more poori actually) was one of my favourites during my childhood.
Coming to Kolkata means having all those things which I don’t get in Gurgaon and this has to be in the list. .
.
If you don’t already know about this, then lemme tell you, this local fried item is an old century delicacy from undivided bengal (Bangladesh and West Bengal). This is usually served with chholar daal (sweetened chana daal) or aaloo sabzi (sometimes along with pumpkin as well) and costs around ~Rs. 20/30.
Hello @Food_Travel_Insta ,
Thank you for your first post in the Food & Drink board, where Local Guides share their own experience with trying unique dishes. That way other members of the Connect community may have the opportunity to discover and learn about great cuisine from different parts of the world.
The dish you have shared looks very interesting. Did you make it yourself or you had it a restaurant? I love puff pastry and I am amazed how many delicious dishes can be created with it. Do you have the recipe? I would love to try it.
P.S. I will also share some tips that you may find useful. Please refer to The best photography tips for taking pictures of food and 6 helpful photo tips from Nigerian food blogger Atim Ukoh.
