The idea of sharing always fascinated me. Whether through sharing of information, ideas, feelings… you know, everything. Maybe that’s why I became a Professor at my local University, because in this occupation, we are always sharing things and I love it. The internet age has changed the way people relate and how they acquire information in today’s world and thus, there is no unknown. There will always be a person who has known a specific place (parks, clubs, pubs, etc), who has eaten a meal in a new restaurant, or purchased a product in a local store that can tell us about their experiences.
When these people share their experiences, we can make decisions about whether or not to go there. I find the idea of "knowing" a place in advance very useful, without having to go in person. If that place has good reviews of Local Guides, I will have much more certainty that the place is reliable and so I can make my decision with more precision. This happens mostly with food for me, specially coffee shops (yeah, I’m a caffeine addict, sorry). Before going to a specific place, I want to be sure that this place is interesting and that I will like it, and this way, the evaluations have always helped me a lot. There is no doubt that sharing information is an incredible way to help people around the world, and to help ourselves. That’s why I decided to become a Local Guide, when I realised just how useful the information shared by other Local Guides was important to me and for the others. The world deserves your local sharing!
