The impact of the Local Guides Program in my life has been tremendous as not only has it helped me in my travels. This made me think that I too could be of help to others in their excursions and I started contributing my reviews on restaurants, hotels and places of interest after visiting them, so that others too can also get a preview of what to expect and so select a place most suitable for their requirements. This I felt was a good way to give something of value to the community. Since all the acknowledgement of gratitude received by myself from the other travelers has given me a lot of satisfaction.

Sri Lanka has been selected by “Lonely Planet” in 2019 as the No.1 travel destination. Sri Lanka also managed to bag the award for “Asia’s Best Nation for Wild Life Tourism”. To add another feather in Sri Lanka’s cap, CNN Travel included Sri Lanka as “one of the 20 Best Places to Visit in 2020”.
As a Sri Lankan, born & bred in this beautiful isle in the Indian Ocean, I have been privileged to visit some of the most scenic places of interest which would attract any foreign tourist to Sri Lanka.
