@aaryesdee if you look for our Neapolitan pizza chains like “Rossopomodoro”, “Fratelli La Bufala” or individual pizzerias which claim to be owned by Italian and which cook Neapolitan pizza you can also experience our authentic pizza abroad: this still happens mostly in big metropolitan areas, in small cities outside Italy is practically impossible to find our authentic pizza, in London, Paris, New York, […] it’s a different story! In any case, our pizza outside Italy usually costs a little more than inside our country!

Thanks once again for the information. Yeah I understand. But all these brands are also purely commercial therefore no one will attempt to preserve the traditional values and authenticity.

I love Italian Food and the traditional pizza, I make my own tomato sauce and it takes lots of time to get good quality, consistency sauce.

Thanks

Wish you a Merry Christmas.

If you can make Italian food at home, it will be always the best! For making a great Italian pizza the Authentic way you still need a wood oven, otherwise even the best prepared pizza will be not the Neapolitan way!

That’s why, if you live in a city apartment and don’t have a wood oven in the house, going to a Neapolitan pizzeria is the only way. But for all other dishes or for just a pizza which is not really Neapolitan but still great, also cooking at home is a great solution!

Hi @alessioganci,

Once again, quality content you have provided, much appreciated!

Really interesting point of view, I will take notes as well. : ]

On the other hand, I wonder what @Sorbe can add to this subject.

Thank you for your tag @sonnyNg .

Agree with your line @user_not_found . I also find quite interesting travelling abroad and see how Italian cuisine is getting fused sometimes with different elements. For instance I found funny when you order a pizza with pepperoni abroad, do it in Italy and you will receive back a pizza with peppers, or a Latte, which in Italy is simply milk.

@Sorbe the reason why you get a pizza with peppers is simple: in Italian “peppers” is translated with “peperoni” (a word which is similar to “pepperoni” just a P less). So when you say Pepperoni in Italy everyone understands you want a pizza with peppers. We don’t have at all pepperoni pizza in Italy, just basic “pizza with salami”. The same for “latte”, which is the exact translation of “milk” in Italy (if you want also coffee, our drink is called “Caffelatte”).

Grazie @user_not_found ,

I am coming from Italy too, so pizza and especially pesto have no secrets for me.
