It may only rain about four months of the year in Tokyo yet there is plenty of water flowing

I am a bit of an explorer by nature and when I first arrived in Tokyo one of the first things I had to buy was a bicycle. Once happy with my two wheeled choice I couldn’t wait to have a good look around my neighborhood; I should say, extended neighborhood.

The more I looked the more I found to be of great interest. One of the most interesting discoveries I made was the amount of rivers and steams that flow though this great city.

These rivers are great because most of them have walkway/cycleways running alongside of them (great planning by the river bank flood protection authority (My city back home took a long time to figure that one out).

If you are interested in rivers and streams then checkout this link for further knowledge about Tokyo’s vast river networks walking-on-water-the-underground-rivers-of-tokyo

“What does Tokyo have? A lot, it turns out. There are countless miles of pedestrian paths and “green roads” that follow the route of old rivers and streams. They may not be well-publicized, but they are EVERYWHERE, as I would find out.”

So with rivers in mind let me show you around.

The photos are in no particular order. If you would like to know where a photo is from please feel free to ask. I am more than happy to help.

Lindas fotos las que compartiste @KIWIinTOKYO , pero lo que más me gusto fue su relato sobre los ríos de Tokyo, es muy interesante que lo hayan pensado en función de la gente, gracias por compartir.

saludos Farid.
