Have you heard about the new iPhone 11? Without doubt the smartphone benchmark moves up yet again!!! If you ask me, in today’s times smartphones should be called smartcameras or smartcams as really the focus is always on their camera capability and hardly ever, if at all, about their phone or voice capability. Let’s face it, these smart devices are cameras that just happen to have an inbuilt phone. The iPhone11, with its Ultra Wideband technology, will be available for pre-order in a cople of days. “It just got a whole lot harder to take a bad photo.”
@AdamGT I know how tough it is to take good photos with a bad smartphone. Smartphone companies are smart enough to make us smart. Thanks for sharing this with us.
@MukulR I believe that Apple will give you a credit for iPone6s and above but are happy to take your older iPhone not eligible for credit and recycle it for free. They say “No matter the model or condition, we can turn it into something good for you and good for the planet.”
Haha @Nyainurjanah I don’t have an iPhone 11 but would love to have one so that I could take some great photos. I sure could use a camera that is harder to take bad photos with.
@AdamGT This is really a smart idea. They must get many parts workable in old iPhone which they can use directly or modify to use in the iPhone. Though I have no chance to change my phone here in Bangladesh. But I really appreciate this ide for the sake of world climate. Recycling is very much needed.
I agree with you @MukulR that it’s good for the planet. If your trade-in iPhone is in good condition then it goes to a new owner, if not then it goes to Apple’s Daisy, a disassembly robot that strips the phone down to recover valuable materials which they end up recycling instead of dumping and this in turn helps reduce the amount of materials that needs to be mined from the earth; a win for the environment.
Hi @RogeanC I have a much older Samsung, the S5 but anxious to update and now we are in the new phone release period withApple first on the block, I think the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Google Pixel 4 and 4 XL are coming soon.
Google must pick it up for their Pixel 4 launch. I am super amazed with what they did when Pixel3 came out and together with NightSight they gave the ultimate compact DSLR to consumers. Now with Pixel 4, I believe “It will become impossible to take a bad photo”
Hi @OmerAli and thanks for your message. Yes the post title says it all and like you have said, with the Pixel 3 Google brought out the ultimate compact DSLR and this is why I wrote that to me these devices are more like smartcams rather than smartphones. I just wonder now what specifications an features the Pixel 4 will bring! I can’t wait.
I guess we will find out in October. Rumored with increased lens elements, better optics, bundled with better software that even touts 'Astro-photo mode" one can only imagine. I still remember the night we queued up to get our hands on the first iPhone, it is incredibly unbelievable what humans have achieved in a decade (in smartphone category alone) and almost equally unimaginable to think what’s coming in next.
One can only imagine indeed @OmerAli and again as you have said, hard to imagine what could possibly come in the next decade but not only in these smart devices! Perhaps as predicted we will be taking cheap space flights on Virgin Galactic and who knows even perhaps walking on the moon ourselves!!! Futerism hey!!!
