Istanbul, Where West Meets East!

Istanbul - Authentic, Modern and Urban City

Istanbul Mornings

The tram sounds will wake you up in the morning, do not bother to set any alarm if you were in the middle of Istanbul. the city is a live in the morning. piece of white cheese, fresh baked bread and olive can help kick off your day in the morning , keep your breakfast fast to enjoy the turkish cuisine later!, since you this was your first night at the city try to relax and plane ahead.

Do not miss the coffee, it is amazing there, one of the best i ever try so far, I’m a latte lover, but the original turkish is not bad for a strong shots of caffeine for heavy headed people. sit down, relax, have a small sips of your coffee, enjoy the busy alleys and you can see how the people is happy.

Explore The City

Since you had your time and ignite every single cell of your brain, it’s time to explore. take your phone, DSLR or any device where you can capture your first city moments. walk around the markets, alleys, streets shops and bazaars. Just enjoy the smooth movement of the city.

Istanbul is a huge city, one day will not be enough. nevertheless, try to forget about the time and space and allow yourself to be lost in the city.

if you live in the city old city center, probably you will find that most of the famous city monuments are in a walking distance from you.

Suleymaniya Mosque, Sultanahmet District, Hagia Sophia Museum, Blue Mosque, Ayasofya Hurrem Sultan Hamami, Galata Tower and many other locations you can visit in the first day.

Do not forget to try the authentic turkish Hamam (type of ancient self hygiene and massage center), you will feel like a new born baby after a rough hot water seminar.

The Food

Food, food & food. what else than food that can make a person happy in the afternoon. in general the turkish cuisine is a heavy, grecy with strong flavors. a plate of Doner or Kofta will make your day!

do not forget to finish with some turkish sweet, Baqlawah.

The Sea

one of the most amazing things in istanbul is that many activities at the sea can be done, cruise trip for less than one dollar, traveling between the Asian and european part of the city and visiting the island. princes island for example is on the most peace full location I ever visited and you can reach it by ferry in less than one hour trip the trip it self is amazing and keep some food for the seagle during the trip you will enjoy it.

Last but not least, visit other cities

Istanbul is great but turkey is full of other areas to visit, Bursa, Ma’ashouqia and snow ski mountains.

city escape trip is a must do in your visit checklist.

below are a few pictures of my trip, Enjoy it please ?

Hello @FuadOdeh ,

Thank you for sharing your trip and these amazing photos with us. What camera did you use?

I have been to Istanbul several times and it’s always a pleasure going back there. It’s a complex city, cosmopolitan and so diverse, where the west really meets the east. Do you have a favorite place in whole Istanbul? Have you been to Buyukada?

Hi @BorrisS

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I’ve used my DSLR Canon D750 & my Iphone. this was my first time visiting Turkey. My favorite post in the city is the princes Island, you can feel isolated from the busy world out there!

I did not visit Buyukada, looking forward to do so!

You’re welcome @FuadOdeh .

Buyukada belongs to the Princes’ Islands. It is the biggest one and the last stop of the ferry.
