In April 2014, I visited with my friends the metropolis of Turkey - Istanbul. We spent two days full of learning about ancient cultures on the border between Europe and Asia.
On the way from the airport to the center we admired the vibrant life of a city that never stops.
The first evening we visited a traditional Turkish restaurant in the city center, near the golden corner. We tasted local specialties and smoked a hookah. Later we admired the beauty of the illuminated ancient mosques.
The next day we visited the ancient Hagia Sophia and the famous Grand Bazaar. We bought souvenirs, sweets and tried the art of negotiating with traders.
For dinner, we tasted specialties in the port restaurant. Late in the evening we enjoyed the vibrant night city with its illuminated harbor, the old Galata Bridge and the modern bridge across the Bosphorus.
It was an exciting experience of getting to know the atmosphere of one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Local residents surprised us with their hospitality and immediacy.
All the pictures were taken with camera Fujifilm X100.
Thank you for sharing awesome pictures! Istanbul is a great city with unique atmosphere!
I had an opportunity to see Istanbul once. It was connection between flights. The airline provided a free tour of the city. Surely, I seized the opportunity!
Hope to visit Istanbul again for more long time!!!
