[Issue?] Can you participate even at the age of 18?

I’m sorry. I use Google Translate because I am not good at English.

In the Japanese help community, it has been reported that even 18-year-old children can not join LocalGuides.

We have confirmed that this is the cause of the incorrect calculation of age calculation by Google account settings.

Is there anything I can do for users who are 18 and looking forward to joining?
(Note: I told user that it would be better to send “feedback”)

私は英語が苦手なので、Google翻訳を使っています。(ローカルガイドコネクトでは母国語だけで良いという意見もありますが、多くは意味が伝わらないので、敢えてそうしています）

日本のヘルプコミュニティで、１８歳になってもローカルガイドに参加出来ないという報告がありました。
これがGoogleアカウント設定による年齢計算の誤った計算の原因であることを確認しました。

18歳になって参加を楽しみにしているユーザーにできることはありますか？
（補足：投稿者にはフィードバックを送信するように案内済です）

@KOBAYASHI_Jun Can you try 30 March 2001? I suspect USA timezone is 14 hours behind Japan time, so maybe it’s still 1 day short of 18 years old.

I tried 2001.3.30 for testing, but the situation didn’t improve.
It may take some time to reflect.

If you are calculating age without being aware of each country’s time zone, I think it would be better to state that in the Help to reduce confusion for non-US participants. : )

@StephenAbraham s thought may be correct. I also hope the comment will be added about this issue or the way to calculate will be fixed :slight_smile:

以下質問がありますので、お手数ですがご回答ください。

ローカルガイドコネクトにログインの際3つの選択があります。

  • メールアドレスまたは電話番号
  • メールアドレスを忘れた場合
  • アカウントを作成

18歳になったローカルガイドは最後の「アカウントを作成」の選択が選ばれますでしょうか。

一つ目の選択の場合は、直接ググるメールのアカウントとパスワードがログインすることができます。

It may take up to 9 weeks after signing up for the Local Guides program after reaching 18 years of age. Eligible contributions you make to Google Maps prior to signing up for the Local Guides program will count towards your Local Guides status once you sign up.

18歳になってからローカルガイドプログラムに登録するのに9週間程かかる場合があります。ローカルガイドプログラムに登録する前の投稿は、登録後にローカルガイドのポイントとしてカウントされます。

楽しみにしてくださっているのに大変申し訳ないのですが、18歳のユーザーさんにシステム上18歳になってすぐには登録できませんが、9週間以内にはできますので少し待ってから登録してくださいとお伝えください。宜しくお願いします。

There is no problem with “Google Account”, but it is a problem that you can not join only the LocalGuides.
