Hi, can someone please explain why am i not able to post photos of a particular place? I tried with different accounts, its not working. While uploading, it shows that photos are uploaded and i get msg about points too but nothing is shown when we open that place on maps.
I can not explain why this is happening, but I see it too. If the photo is caught by the spam filter this will happen and you will not be notified. But it also happens to 1-3 percent of my photos that should not have been caught by the spam filter.
I keep a folder in Google Photos with such examples should Google want to investigate this one day.
Cheers
Morten
thank you so much for replying to my problem. The thing is all these uploaded photos are shown in my google photos which Iâve uploaded.
Moreover the place, of which Iâm talking about belongs to me and i want to keep uploading its photos. But somehow its not working.
Hi @MoneySachdeva first up let me deal with an issue before we get to the photo problem, you say youâve tried with different accounts? You can only have one account in registered in the Local Guides program and remain within the Local Guides Program Terms and Conditions. Please exit the program from any additional account(s) you have via https://www.google.com/localguides/optout
Now for the photo problem, check in your Maps options, firstly look to see if have upload only over wifi checked? If you do, Maps will wait to upload. Maps also uploads the pictures in the background, it can take quite some time for them to appear. Uploading again can lead to duplicates. Finally Maps has spam protection that may mark some images private (only you can see them) quite quickly.

Speaking frankly, @MoneySachdeva , I am really surprised that the last photo you uploaded is visible, as it should be definitely caught by the spam filter because it is a serious violation of all the rules that a Local Guide should follow (advertisement, over-imposed text, etc.).
One of the important thing that we have to keep in mind is that we must keep a separation between our local guide activity and our businesses. This is against the Local Guides Program Terms and Conditions : âOrganizations, brands, and businesses are not eligible for the Program.â
If you want to upload that kind of photos in your own business, you should claim it, clicking on âClaim this businessâ, visible on the screenshot here below, taken from the business listing of your business in maps
In this way, you will be able to upload that photo as âthe ownerâ
In addition, to avoid any conflict of interest, the two reviews actually visible in there should be removed. One is by you, and the other by a person with the same family name. Reviewing your own business is a clear alteration of ratings, and can end in the removal of your listing from Google maps (rating alteration, conflict of interest)
@PaulPavlinovich hi,. Iâve only one account. By another i meant that i told my friend to try uploading 2-3 photos from her account, which didnât work either.
Hi @ErmesT
I was trying to claimââ the business when i started posting here. Yesterday while i deleted my own comment and rating too though i did it much before i started claiming the business
Now Iâve got to know that while it was trying to claim it around a month back. I must have opted for âconfirm by post cardâ , Google is saying that ive been isdued code whereas I havenât received it yey. Its been around a month.
I am shown that i xan work on my business profile and i do too. But again the logo and photos which i upload are not being displayed.
Do you mean that you donât see your photo, @MoneySachdeva
This is what I see on the business listing
Or, that you donât see a photo uploaded as âthe ownerâ?
Well, one month seems to be a long time, here in Italy it takes one or two weeks for receiving the post card
Hi @MoneySachdeva as a Local Guide its not valid for you to claim a business, only the business owner or their agent should be doing that. If youâre acting as their agent you cannot also contribute to that business as a Local Guide because there is a conflict of interest.
Thank you for clearing up the question around multiple accounts.
