Soooo… I’m new here and I’m really just trying to get acclimated. How long did it take for you to discover this portal and become familiar with it? How can I shorten my learning curve? Are you not entertained?

Getting adapted to the forum depends upon how much time you can devote every day to know that.
Best way to expedite that is to go through all the articles on the Help desk.
Next, read the post in all boards & join the discussions.
By that time, you would learn how to create great posts.
Then you can contribute by sharing your expertise in photography or experience in travel, food & drink etc.
Thus, according to my experience, all that would need devoting an hour or so daily for about two weeks.

@JohnACarter at first it can all seem a bit overwhelming indeed. For me the most important thing was coming back to the forum quite regularly to see in which sections which kind of new content was popping up.
To shorten the learning curve, this post is definitely an excellent starting point.
