Happy Sunday Everyone! I love everything historical and vintage. Something that tells a story of the old culture and way of life and how that influences today and that’s my passion for sharing this gem with you today. Seems like Kenyans have had a sweet tooth since their time in history and here is the evidence!
My mum took me to this place for the first time when I was a teenager and she told me stories of how they had great times with dad here and she is now in her 50’s. With that said, I definitely believe the pulselive business insider when they say this place has been around since 1952. In fact the decor of the place tells it’s own story. You will pictures of a 7up soda and coca cola back in it’s vintage form. The most fascinating thing is that some of the items on the menu have never changed either and how they stood the test of time just marvel’s me!
It’s definitely a favourite to many and on a typical day it gets full. If you are new in town this will certainly be a nice vintage experience I recommend you try. Do you perhaps know of any Icecream parlour in African that tells a story as deep as this? It would be great to hear your thoughts and comments.

@PaulPavlinovich thank you for the encouraging comments. I honestly didn’t know the simple tips on how to write a good connect post would help me improve. I appreciate how passionately connect moderators like you pour share your knowledge with the community and help us grow. I am trying to also put together my first Meetup based on some of the links you shared and I will for sure be reaching out for help soon.
I am so glad that our messages are helpful @ahadilugo that is why we’re here. Some people get mad when we suggest improvements, its awesome when the person dives in and starts contributing great posts.
Your first Meetup can be an anxious time, relax, plan it well, make sure you share on your socials and invite some friends and you’ll be fine.
@Julien44 Thank you, but I cant take all the credit I must admit the tips @AdrianLunsong shared great tips on how to write better connect post on his series of #ConnectWritingChallenge and they have helped me improve.
It was a long time ago that my mum and I visit this place and it brought all those good memories back when I went there recently. The place is not just vintage but the Icecream there is really good!
@Nur85 there is something about good food especially an Icecream and when you share it with friends. It can bring many people together and put a smile on your faces.
Good post. It is very interesting. It remind me of the need to keep a family business going. The ice cream parlour not only serve tasty ice-cream but has a lovely history behind it. Well done to@ahadilugo
Sorry for the late reply @ahadilugo !! Better late than never and I’m glad I went through my notifications to check your post out! Well done! I’ve also had a quick scan of your profile and you’ve written great posts before too, so definitely keep it up!
For me, I really like what you’ve done here because rather than just a simple story about an ice cream parlour, you’ve added a personal story to it that I’m sure made loads of readers go “awwwwww”! Send my greetings to your mum and dad too!
I can’t see anything wrong with your post… my only wish was for more photos! This where you can use a photo collage to show a few at a time! And out of curiosity, the fruit cocktail in the ice cream shot, they don’t look like the fruits I see here… so I’m guessing they are local fruits? Which ones are they?
