As I age, I’ve begun to avoid some restaurants because the background noise levels are so high it becomes difficult to enjoy a normal conversation. Would asking questions in our routine surveys serve to begin gathering opinions on sound levels and their impact on the experience? Would this data be useful to the general public which relies on our input?
Hi @RJM716 “Welcome to Connect! If this is your first visit, you’ve come to the right place. This post will serve as a guide for everything you need to know about contributing content and engaging with the Local Guides community on Connect” This is the first of the information that you will find in “Your guide to Connect” , the introductory Guide of the community. In there you will find all the necessary information to know how to better contribute in here
This is a good question. Personally I would appreciate very much to have this kind of information, because I don’t like noisy places, especially during a dinner with friends, as I enjoy to talk with them.
Normally if a place is not comfortable due to the noise I like to add this information in my review, because I’m expecting that it can be helpful also for others.
Do you have a doubt about how to do something here or in Google Maps? The Help desk is here for you, with a long list of post with detailed indications on how to post.
Which kind of contents we share in the community? What are Connect topics? will give you an explanation
Welcome to Connect, @RJM716 !
As @ErmesT mentioned, that type of information being included in your reviews, for instance, is very helpful considering Google Maps results may hone in on those keyword depending on the user’s search. It’s also an accessible consideration.
Plus, for some Guides like myself and Ermes, we do prefer some places and settings to be quiet, so it doesn’t hurt to provide that info.
