I just want to know if the program is back yet, I’ve heard that it was stopped for improvements but there is no official update of anything on any Google website. I asked this same question in the Google maps help forum (https://support.google.com/maps/thread/81826483?hl=en#)) and one reply from there have brought me here to the local guide connect website.
So, can anyone please inform if the Google Trusted Photographer is back yet? (9th Nov 2020)
invited to join the Local Guides program as a trusted professional. You will also have access to an exclusive Street View trusted photographer forum on Local Guides Connect. To see if you’ve been invited, check the Street View app.
To get the trusted badge and be listed on the for-hire index, fill out the form that’s emailed to you and turn on the for-hire setting.
The program is migrating on a different platform, but the rules to become a Street View Trusted Photographer are not changed
The confusion is why they sent you here in Local Guides Connect.
The situation have been discussed continuosly in the latest months, so we have a clear situation of the evolution of the Street View Trusted Photographers program
As of Now, I have reached the 50 photos mark and I have turned on the “for-hire” option in the street view app. And as soon as I did that, I got an Email saying that I’ve met the requirement to be trusted by Google Street View, and that I should fill the form to get into the for-hire. But then the form says:
“The Street View trusted program is currently under revamp which also includes our sign up process. At present, we are not accepting any new applications through this form. Once the new program is officially launched, our team will inform you via email.”
To respond to your last question @anuragrw (we were writing simultaneously) yes, you can introduce yourself as a Street View photographer, because you are a Street View Trusted, even if at the moment you cannot be inserted to the “for Hire” list
