When writing reviews, is doing a comparison to other places like this or similar against the rules? I’ve heard conflicting things but the rules do not appear to explicitly state it.
@victor35 I reviewed the article below that discuss prohibited and restrictied content for Google Maps contribution, and there’s no explicit rule with regards to your scenario.

However, depending how the review is crafted, and who wrote it, it can actually violate the rules. For example, if it’s clear the message written for defamation purpose, or if the reviewer is related to the other place, or the reviewer is the owner of the place that they’re referring to.
Even with good intent, comparing to other place in a review is considered poor form and should be avoided.
Thanks for the advice!
Normally, I write lengthy reviews and at the end, I say “xyz is better / worse, also try abc location.”
@victor35 Honestly, I would avoid writing that in your reviews. It’s hard to know the actual intent, and taste is very subjective. When writing a review, it’s better to give an objective opinion as much as possible.
