Is Paris a Dog-Friendly city?

I have been living in Paris for 8 years and I’ve never asked myself this question: is Paris a dog-friendly city?

It all began in April 2018 when Marty, a little ball of fur, arrive at my life. He was only 8 weeks older and we got it at the animal fair that takes place in Espace Champerret in Paris. We brought him home but we had to take the metro and then a bus. It was his first time in public transportation and we immediately felt that it will be hard to have a dog in this city.

We didn’t have any problem this first time because he was small and cute but it’s important to know that in Paris dogs are not allowed in buses, only small dogs in a bag or service animals. If you take the metro, you have to pay for a ticket (reduce rate), always have your dog on a leash and with a muzzle.

So, that’s why I’m writing this post, to tell you some tips and share with you some places where you can go with your hairy fella. For this reason, I create a list on Google Maps named Paris Dog-Friendly where I share the places I already went with Marty.

The idea is to discover places in Paris and its surroundings where the dogs are welcome and then write my impressions and share with you that the place is pet-friendly and avoid unpleasant surprises.
