Is it ever possible to recover all of your contributions from a terminated account?

It was out of curiosity that I’d like to know for sure whether you can recover your “Local Guide” status with fairly a lot of contributions over to a new account from a terminated account?

I’ve tried other ways to get to the bottom of this. I mean hell, I don’t care that I lost my Google account but one thing I liked and enjoyed doing was often traveling and leaving honest with lots of accurate details of a given time and place. That said, I was one of the active community contributors for one purpose only without any B.S to help others with their decision about a particular place they’d like to visit…

Unfortunately, my initial account lead to permanent termination that no one even comes close to believing or making sense out from because in all honesty, the actual truth was nasty and really ludicrous…

I’m just giving this one final chance to find out that maybe, just maybe this can be worked out. Otherwise, I’m starting everything all over from scratch which is a huge bummer.

@user_not_found I think you can recover your reviews but note that I have not tried with a suspended account. To retrieve a copy go to https://takeout.google.com/settings/takeout and click ‘deselect all’ then scroll down to ‘Maps (your places)’ and check the box next to it then scroll again to the bottom of the page and click next. Now you can customize the archive formate and download once it is done creating the archive.

If you’ve joined Local Guides again with a second account to post this, then this violates the Terms & Conditions of the program. Please exit the program on this account. If you think you may have been wrongfully removed from the program and your account hasn’t been reinstated for more than 10 days, then you can appeal against this suspension. Appreciate your help on this and to answer your question that whether this new account is my 2nd one? then the answer is no. I was never part nor aware of such a thing. It was a long time ago that I didn’t bother getting too much into it. So, there’s no worries whatsoever about that.

To answer your first question, no you cannot recover “Local Guide” status from a terminated account or even from an active account.

Awhhh what the hell?! Did I just recover bunch of files from a different account? Dang it! I was really happy there for a sec haha, but regardless man, thanks once again for the help!

@user_not_found As mentioned above only select 'Maps (your places)’ when downloading the archive. After archiving you should get two .json files. These can be opened with many programmes but I prefer opening it with notepad++. And when you open reviews file you should all of your reviews with details of the places like in this screenshot.

@SaifIS Yessur! This certainly is my kind of work anyways. I do programming and such, yet again thanks once more for further intel regarding all of this.

Hi @user_not_found if you lost your other account because of suspension or removal by Google then you cannot undertake Local Guides from another account.

If you lost access to an old account then you’re probably ok.
