I figured this would be a good place to ask if the Google Map Maker has any plans of coming back or something similar to Google Map Maker?
I would love something like this to be back as my area is a very fast growing area and when I make edits through Google, sometimes they take months to be reviewed and some of the information i submit is critical like new interstates opening and stuff like that. I’m also map editor for a couple different sites and it’s hard to do editing for Google as the only thing you can do is add, edit and remove roads and wait for them to be reviewed which takes months in some cases. I wish in the future I’ll be able to add new neighborhoods and add houses and roads and not have to wait a lengthy process for it to possibly be submitted.

The answer is NO. I don’t think Google map maker is coming back. We just have to move on and use the current tools we have to improve the maps. Nevertheless stay turned and connected here. Any official news about such things will surely be announced here.
There are lots of factor could delay your edits. Some places are also very difficult or even impossible to edit. In my own experience bank,hospitals and even pharmacies are quite difficult or almost impossible to edit. Reasons been that they are very delicate or sensitive POIs.
When it comes to roads have you tried the new desktop road editor? Adding roads on the maps using the desktop editor tool. Note that am not talking about road mapper,that’s a different thing entirely. Hope this helps
