Is Ask The Googler Series Gone?

I have been wondering about this and hope it’s not against the rules on connect to ask,I’ll ask anyways, I stand to be corrected.

  • Is ask the Googler series gone?

Maybe it’s just delayed or something. I kind of miss it. It’s very interesting and interactive as well. It been a while we had something interesting like that to bring local guides together on connect.I have counted at least two and a half month and no sign of it.The last episode was in December and Mara Chomsky was our last guest. Date of the last post is Dec 16 2021. Therefore another series is long overdue, just to keep the fun rolling.

Hoping some moderators will notice this post and give an answer.I

Thanks for asking @SholaIB , you are welcome to ask, of course

I don’t have an answer, but I think that we can always suggest about what we would like to know. Google Maps is huge, as we have learned from the series, with a lot of departments working in specific fields.

So maybe it would be great if you can be more specific, focusing on some subject that can be more interesting for you, e.g. reviews verification, photos approval, future improvement, and so on

Very kind of you @ErmesT

I knew and look forward to your reply, thank you.

Yes it’s quite complex and wide. That’s the more reason why the series can cover more grounds than one can usually do in a post or 2. The fact that we can ask questions from different aspect each time and can even learn from other local guides as well makes it more interesting.

Of course I love Edits more than anything else on the map. Moreso, there is room for improvements in the future days on the maps. Last time we talked about these selfies and other wrong photos that’s are featured on the maps It’s a lifetime job reporting them. I have reported a few of them without success so issues like these can all be addressed on these series.

Hi @SholaIB ,

@DeniGu

Goodnews and thank you for replying.

Only it’s been awhile like I mentioned in my post that’s Why I thought I should ask. It usually does not take that long.

Staying turned and watching out.

Hello @DeniGu

I think I can tag you again on this post. Hope you are good? I’m fine thanks.

The last ask the Googler series was in July 2022 which is 8 months ago.

Can we have another series please or is it on hold for some important reasons? It’s been a good while ago now. Look forward to your reply. Thank you in advance.

Hi @SholaIB ,

Thank you for asking about the Ask a Googler series again! The series is indeed on hold for now.

What kind of content would you like to see? What did you like most about the Ask a Googler series? Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thank you @DeniGu for prompt response.

The first very important thing is the interactions between these Googlers and us local guides. The local guides ask questions and that gets connects lively. We get to know them better and they also know some of us closer too.

There has been at least 2 challenges on the maps and some of us in West Africa haven’t been able to participate. What plans are been made to involve the Africans(or say the less developed parts) in such subsequent challenges on the maps

There has also been some new features reported by some local guides regarding getting a message about private reviews etc Any plans to make that worldwide? Those are just some two instances of what I’ll like to know. They might be more!!!

Cheers
