Irish man in Tennessee

Easily one of the prettiest states I have been to.

This was my first of two trips to Tennessee I had no Idea what to expect I only knew that I wanted to Visit the Smokey Mountains

Its beautiful up there… so clean, so quiet and peaceful… You can really get away from it all and just relax.
There were vast areas of just trees after trees that brings you back to when there was no traffic… no noise pollution and no light pollution. Th air was fresh and crisp and nature was really the one thing that mad you a minority.

We stayed in a beautiful cabin that was surrounded by trees and wildlife… we even had a black bear come to our glass door… this was my first real experience of bears and I FROZE… so no picture was taken.

But the cabin was perfect for what we needed.

We then took a drive around the state… there is so much to do in the state that you have to decide what would be important for you.
We drove to Ruby Falls near Chattanooga which was well worth the visit … I am not a very big fan of guided tours as there always seems to be too much talking and noise for such beautiful places like this… but often you have no option, unless you are rich and famous.

But the falls was worth it… I would highly recommend a trip here

And then on to Chattanooga. This town is steeped in history albeit bad history , especially for the Native Americans. But its a beautiful town and they have taken many step to highlight the pain and suffering that was placed upon the Native American people… which is both sad and very interesting at the same time.

Chattanooga had a big play in the Civil war… if you are interested in that then you should visit here and look for the many areas of educational sites that show how the battle of Chattanooga was fought

We traveled to the Rock Garden to see the seven states, which is a nice side trip

Then on to Lynchburg, which was one of the highlights to me… Not because I drink JD… but I used to and I always Loved the label… but this tour was the best tour I have ever been on… it is such an exciting tour and very informative… you will be surprised with facts through the whole tour, At the end they sit you down surrounded by barrels of Jack Daniels and provide tasters.
Well Worth the drive out to the Distillery

We drove to Nashville as our final stay… Nashville is an exciting town… Not sure if I would return… but its certainly a nice town and plenty of bars and music all day and all night… Like a Country and Western Vegas

We stayed at the Union Station hotel… Beautiful hotel to stay at

I will be posting about our second trip also.
I hope you enjoyed this and it helps you in your travels
