There are very few majestic places in the world that still remain,somewhat, untouched by the hands of the human species.
Glacier park is one of these places… mostly open spaces with air to breathe in deep and relax. A place where you can forget there is a world that is all about running here and there to pay bills.
Montana itself is a beautiful state… driving through the state I saw a sign for a farmers market in a town called Columbia Falls… so we decided to stop for a few minutes… we were not expecting to see what we did.
Most of the town were out relaxing and talking and laughing… the old kind of spirit you would have seen 30 years ago in a small village in Ireland… it seems to be long forgotten in most places… you could tell most people knew each other… they had a bar called The Coop … which was a play on the fact that the market was run my the local CoOP. This place had great music, great beers and great cocktails.
The views you get driving around Montana just keep getting better and better… but then you get to Glacier… and your breath is taken away… the mountains, rivers, lakes are just as beautiful as anything I have ever seen in Ireland… even the railroad tracks are amazing to look at.
After spending a few days there… I had to return and I have 3 times now… do yourself a favour…Visit Montana
