The time i was most active i did take pictures on my Galaxy s8+. My department issued me a iPhone X when the s8+ broke, and there is a few things i miss:
When i went into a building i got a notice to add photos/reviews.
A better Google maps log.
The log of where you are with an IOS device is not very good. It can be lines drawn across water and its very basic.
Its not always easy to see where you were.
The first thing was most important for me, i just uploaded photos directly while in store/restaurant/hotel/church/etc.
Any chance you think this will be available?
If they had Google Pixel 2-3 devices in Norway i would buy one for my own money just to take better pictures in my region (Bergen,Norway) and surrounding areas as im often going places.

Maybe you have makes some changes in the application Google Maps!
Try to see if the app is set-up in this way:
Settings
Scroll down to find the app “Google Maps”
Position > Always
Now follow the guideline here : Google Maps Timeline

Sorry for slow reply. It is set up right.
The problem is due to Apple ECO system it works worse then android.
Hopefully the pixel will be launched in Norway soon. I refuse to buy the horrible Samsung devices.
What I loved about Android was that when I was in a location it would pop up :are you here? Do you want to contribute.
Hopefully if they do not launch official here in Norway at least guides of a certain level would be able to buy from them directly
