Introducing updates to some Connect boards

When we launched the new and improved Connect in 2018, we created topic sections to make it easier to find the posts you’re most interested in. But conversations flow and evolve naturally, so we’re introducing a few changes to the familiar boards.

Announcements are now Highlights**.**This new name better captures the posts Googlers share on the board: Google Maps and Local Guides news, but also fantastic stories from our community.

How-tos **has an added purpose.**The How-tos section started as a place for Local Guides to ask questions and exchange tips on how to make helpful contributions. Now, you can also share your feedback about Connect and the Local Guides program helping us make this platform better for everyone.

The Idea Exchange is going away. Thank you for the hundreds of ideas over the years! As we work towards improving the experience for everyone on Connect, on January 13, we will close the Idea Exchange. It will disappear from the left-side menu, but your ideas will still be visible on your Connect profile and remain in our records.

You are welcome to submit suggestions and feedback about Connect and the Local Guides program in How-tos after January 13. We will let you know if your idea gets implemented here on Connect! For ideas about Google Maps, we encourage you to send feedback in the app, so it reaches the Maps teams directly.

Thank you so much @Ority for this improvement. We know that Idea exchange is frequently misused, so I understood why it will be closed, even if some of the ideas in there are great and I hope soon or later the team will implement them.

So suggestions, feedback and questions will be posted under HOW - TOS as a better board. @Ority

Since this article already posted about changes and improvement, I am adding as a suggestion to create the SHARE icon next to the LGs’ profile photo here in connect so he / she can share his / her profile like that SHARE icon already shown on Google maps app in the profile page
