Hi everyone! Welcome to Local Guides Connect. Please take a moment to introduce yourself to our community.
As “Introduce Yourself” threads can be lengthy, we start a new one each month and lock past threads. You can check previous threads, like October’s, to see who recently joined and where they’re from. We’ll merge any “I’m new” and “Hello world” posts we find elsewhere with this thread to keep things organized.
Do you want to be featured in our monthly Introduce Yourself posts? Share your introduction in the comments, following the five prompts below, and a horizontal photo of yourself (in landscape mode). The best introductions will be considered for future Introduce Yourself posts. Please note: Your response may be edited for clarity. By taking part in this challenge, you agree to allow us to share your answers and photo(s) publicly here on Connect.
This month, meet @ZgAga! Aga is a Local Guide Level 9, and here’s what she shared.
1. Name: Aga (zgAga)
2. Location: Ireland
3. What I love about being a Local Guide: For me, being a Local Guide is about preserving stories before they fade. I’m drawn to the quiet corners of Ireland — abbeys hidden behind farm gates, ruined churches covered in ivy, wells tied with ribbons for St. Brigid. I try to show places as they truly are — beautiful or flawed, peaceful or chaotic — so people know what to expect and can experience them with the same sense of wonder I do.
4. My favorite thing to explore: Anything ancient, forgotten, or carrying a trace of legend. I love old cemeteries with angel carvings, dolmens weathered by a thousand winters, and places that still hum with folklore. My favourite discoveries are often the ones found by accident — usually with a robin nearby.
5. Fun fact about me: It took years (and more tolls than I’d like to admit) to reach Level 9, with over 302 reviews, 8,325 photos, 180 videos, and 15 million+ views. I’m a Master Reviewer and Master Photographer — proof that curiosity and muddy boots pay off. I’m not chasing Level 10… but if there’s a hidden ruin or an ancient legend waiting, I’m probably already on the road.
Nice to meet you, Aga! Local Guides, don’t miss the chance to say hi to Aga in the comments below and share your introduction, too.
