Hi everyone! Welcome to Local Guides Connect. Please take a moment to introduce yourself to our community.
As “Introduce Yourself” threads can be lengthy, we start a new one each month and lock past threads. You can check previous threads, like June’s, to see who recently joined and where they’re from. We’ll merge any “I’m new” and “Hello world” posts we find elsewhere with this thread to keep things organized.
Do you want to be featured inour monthly Introduce Yourself posts**?** Share your introduction in the comments, following the five prompts below, and a horizontal photo of yourself (in landscape mode). We will select one of the best introductions and include it in our next month’s post. Please note: Your response may be edited for clarity. By taking part in this challenge, you agree to us sharing your answers and photo(s) publicly here on Connect.
This month, meet @Yoshi_Mirai ! Yoshi is a Local Guide Level 8, and here’s what they shared about themselves.
Hi there, I’m Jaypee Kong a local contributor from the Philippines. Since the pandemic started, there’s a lot of changes in business locations here in Manila, Philippines. Every time I look into places, the shop is closed or moved permanently to another location and if the business owner has no idea if his/her business is existing on the web, they lose clients without knowing it. This was the time that I started to contribute to Google Maps to help other users and at the same time, to adopt the algorithm and behavior of Google Business Profile how it works and how can I apply this to digital business to help business owners.
Happy July to you and Happy sixth birthday to connect in advance this July. Thank you for starting the July thread of Introduction. A warm welcome to all the newbies in the house and hello to all local guides.
@Yoshi_Mirai nice to meet you and to know more about you. May I ask you a question, tell us more about your hiking experience? What’s the most thrilling hiking you’ve ever gone and what’s the distance? I am.not much into birds in particular but I love nature in general. I like 360 photos as well,I have contributed 136 Sv photos so far. Still looking out for more chance to do more.
Enjoy your time on connect, keep active and keep guiding.
Wow ! Welcome to connect this July day. Thank you for your introduction as well. This will be a good post to be in the Introduce-Yourself-July-2022 thread. We have a monthly thread where Local guides can introduce themselves.
It’s good to know you have been contributing to the maps. That’s the aim of local guides. Keep contributing and happy Mapping.

Hello July, thank you for posting the topic @AngieYC and nice to learn about you @Yoshi_Mirai san. Hope we can get in touch and that Japan is in my Bucket List, if time permits I should be there in the future.
I would like to inform you that I redacted the image you shared in your post, since it is your personal information.

Hello @Yoshi_Mirai and I love that awesome photo of you at Monument Valley as I too lovehiking! So much more that I really do hope to read more Connect posts from you with more great hiking photos Yoshi
In my view @jaypeekong , humility here is important. Analytics Specialist is fine, get the job and then show them that you’re more than just a Specialist, you are aStar
You are welcome! I would also like to inform you that all kinds of promotion, including self-promotion is not allowed here on Connect, since it is against our Program Rules.

Thanks for your comments. I do enjoy hiking a lot in Japan and I hope I can share my experiences with all visitors to Japan. I loved hiking in Kamikochi (Japanese alps) because it is such a pristine place and offers a lot of hiking routes of different levels. You can even run into monkeys in the forest!
Thanks @AdamGT ! Japan is actually a great place for hiking, we have a lot of mountains for different levels an the hiking trails are well identified. Also staying overnight in a mountain Lodge can be a great experience. I loved your pictures too!
