Hi everyone! Welcome to Local Guides Connect. Please take a moment to introduce yourself to our community.

3. What I love about being a Local Guide: The way I see it, every Local Guide helps thousands of people. As a person with a poor sense of orientation, I can’t survive without Google Maps. It helps me every time I want to find a new place, and that’s why I find pleasure in sharing my experience on Maps, too, knowing that I’m able to help in return.

   

4. **My favorite thing to explore: “**Foodie” is a word that describes me very well. I enjoy everything related to food: exploring restaurants and street food, eating, cooking, taking photos of it. This is my favorite way to learn more about different cultures.

   

5. Fun Fact about me: I love reading books and learning new languages. I also have a passion for earrings, especially handmade ones. I buy at least one pair from everywhere I go.

What I love about being a Local Guide: To me, the Local Guides program is a great opportunity to engage with people from around the world, take part in cultural exchanges, and make good friends.
Through the contributions of other Local Guides on Google Maps, I’ve explored many new places during my holidays in local guide.

My favorite thing to explore: I like exploring historical places of different cultures. When I go somewhere, I always look for sites built centuries ago.

1. Name: Alona Meiller-Yamin

2. Location: Tel-Aviv area, Israel.

3. What I love about being a Local Guide: Being a mom of 3, I use it myself to find fun activities for kids, and I always like to see photos to make sure it’s age-appropriate for my little ones, as well as check if the area is stroller-friendly.

Since I LOVE taking photos and videos everywhere I go, I discovered Google Local Guides quite fast. I love to share my experiences and help others to find their next hangout place, especially for moms and families looking for suitable places to spend time with the little ones. I always love to share my impressions in hopes it’ll be useful for others.

No matter how busy I am with my business, kids, husband, house, and family, I always take the time to make videos because I love to document our own life, as well as the world around us.

1. My favorite thing to explore:

Firstly, I became active in the program simply because I love photography and videography.

Being the owner of a Digital Marketing agency, soon enough, I realized the incredible value this feature holds for many of my customers.

It has become my strong suit for many of them. During the first meeting, I would register my customers on Google Maps and Google My Business platforms.

Combined with regular marketing, we received excellent results.

I love using my specialty to help and improve the lives of those around me. I especially love to support local small businesses in my area, such as shops or my beautician. My agency built a website for her, but soon enough, we saw that Google My Business boosted her clientele big time! There are great photos of her works and lovely reviews from her customers.

I love to contribute my time to bringing people together and facilitating different tasks for them. I do it by managing a closed group of our neighborhood to provide useful information to parents and dog owners in the area, as well as a large group of nurses from all Israeli hospitals (since it’s used to be my profession back in the days).

1. More about me:

Living a multi-dimensional life, I always pursued any area of life that excited me, including sports, religion, various professions, traveling, business development, and, last but not least – a mom and a spouse. I love that Google Local Guides allows me to mobilize any aspect of my day-to-day life!
