Introduction : Hi everyone, I am Kumar, a technical expert serving to an IT company in Noida, a part of Delhi NCR.
Location : Greater Noida which is a part of Delhi-NCR, India.
What I love about being a Local Guide: I love traveling and eating good food. I get pissed when people share wrong information about places during my travel, this leads to further time loss and brings irritation. The same goes with fake reviews of Restaurants and eateries where you end up by eating tasteless food which sometimes can be expensive too. I had the wish to help people by sharing authentic information about such places and proper guidance during their journey.
I felt the power of google map when I was traveling in Uttar Pradesh, India and people could barely helped me to find my desired things. On my way to destination, I enquired from many people to give me the address of CNG Station but either many of them were not aware of or some gave me wrong address which led to further delay. I burnt remaining CNG gas and later petrol in order to find the CNG gas station. This search process also consumed my precious traveling time.
Apart from this I also was not satisfied by locals on my searche for certain business locations, local market for specific things, genuine navigation ways and modes to move around in the city, Good Resturants and eatries, local vendors, reviews of places etc.
Overall experience was being pathetic and frustrating as there was no proper, authentic, genuine information source.
Suddently I found the opportunity by google to act as local guide in order to help and serve common people to help them obtain authentic information of things ( as mentioned above), whenever they need. I was very happy to be a part of this eco system. I was feeling this as my responsibility to help unknown people as i myself have been through this pain.
Now in the month of April 2018, I am realising the value and power of local guide after getting googles invitation however I had kept on posting and doing my job to share information on google map to make other peoples life hasslefree. My Information was backed with photos along with hands on experience. Information compriese Blocked, diverted roads, Certain builders Societys information, Some Townships information, newly developed and developing projects information for property buyers, information on Gas stations specially CNG stations which are very less in quantity however are growing gradually Realizing the difficulty and irritation, I posted pics of Gas Specially CNG stations and their review, how to get in line smartly to save time and to avoid local taxis( as they are so many in numbers aand are always in queue).
Also whenever I find some poor answers given to information seekers make me sad ( though I try to give the best possible information) but google has done tremendous job to show the tag of local guides where based on their levels, people, in no time can choose the right ones to save their time to get the genuine informaiton.
I have helped other people`s business to show their business and location on google map. I also have educated them the power of google and its map app which can help recognised by people to know their location, their company and nature of business.
Local Guide Meetup: I am looking forward to meet with other LGs around the globe courtsey to Google. This will help me to motivate further to contribute more. This also will give me chance to understand thought process of people from different parts of world as this event will brings all local minded guides under one roof. Google maps has always been a wonderful reliable source of information during my travel and this local guide programme is like icing on cake. I am sure that this initiative of goolge will see another height of experties in welfare of society all around the world.
