Hi there, I posted a review because I experienced a bed service with a company. They informed to me by a lawyer to remove the review otherwise we need to go to the court. I removed it but I think it is not fair. Any suggestions in order to inform anyone else that is a bad company? In my opinion the importance of writing reviews is to inform other clients to avoid the same experience. What are your thoughts?

First of all, you need to ensure that your review was indeed written in a way that you were not breaking any law and that your opinion was fair. I don’t think anyone can take you to court for an opinion if you can motivate why you have such an opinion. We must be very careful not to make claims, rather than opinions.
For example, I read the other day a review by a Local Guide that claimed that when they drop food on the floor in the kitchen that they still serve it. He did not see it happening, so that would be wrong. Also, note the difference between “a certain time” something happens versus “every time” something happens.
If you are convinced that there was no legal basis for your review to be removed by a court, my suggestion is to report the incident to Google My Business. It does require some evidence though to prove their intimidation.

Yes it is a good response. I have a prove of it but I decided to delete the review because I don’t want to have any other contact with them. I posted this post because I want to know if other local guides received same intimidations and what they did

Il rischio che una recensione negativa possa “infastidire” un business è abbastanza normale, @FrancescoColarieti , soprattutto in una città come Venezia che vive di turismo. Tuttavia trovo sorprendente che siano arrivati a rintracciarti (sei per caso un cliente abituale e hanno già i tuoi dati?), e addirittura a rivolgersi a un avvocato, in quanto se la tua recensione è onesta, non travalica i fatti, e soprattutto non è utilizzata per ottenere un risarcimento, un giudice non avrebbe potuto condannarti per diffamazione.
Molti se, in quanto non conosco il business né la tua recensione.

Grazie @ErmesT per aver deciso di rispondere al mio post. Loro avevano la mia email perché avevo chiesto loro un preventivo. Dopo aver dato tutti I miei dati sono spariti nel nulla per cui dopo email di sollecito ho deciso di attirare la loro attenzione tramite la review. Solitamente le aziende serie cercano di soddisfare le richieste dei possibili clienti ed invece no! Invece del preventivo ho ricevuta la lettera dell avvocato. Per cui ho deciso di desistere ma il pensiero che abbiano preso I miei dati continua ad essere presente nella mia testa.

Hai fatto bene a togliere la recensione, a mio avviso, in quanto basata su una “mancata offerta di servizio” più che si un servizio negativo, che nel tuo caso non si è finalizzato.
Ho avuto di recente un’esperienza analoga, un mancato preventivo che ho atteso per oltre un mese. Mi sono rivolto ad altri, e quando, pochi giorni fa, l’azienda mi ha chiamato per scusarsi del dosaggio, dovuto a un problema informatico, ho comunicato che avevo già affidato il lavoro ad altri. Tutto qui.
Utilizzare una recensione per questo scopo, personalmente non mi sembra appropriato.

I have just had this happen to me and I don’t know what to do. The hostel was genuinely disgusting. I uploaded the review and added 18 photos and 1 video to show the state of the hostel in the review. This is my review and I have until the 10th of July to remove it till they do any legal action towards me. “False advertising. The hostel is so run down and dirty. Worst hostel experience of my life. Lost money from my five night stay because I could only last one night. As an avid back packer whose traveled poor areas in South America I can truly say this has been the scummiest, worst hostel yet.”
