International Day of Education 2021. Let's make a difference!

Education is a human right, a public good and a public responsibility. The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 24 January as International Day of Education, in celebration of the role of education for peace and development. This year’s theme- Recover and Revitalize Education for the COVID-19 Generation.

Without inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong opportunities for all, countries will not succeed in achieving gender equality and breaking the cycle of poverty that is leaving millions of children, youth and adults behind.

Today, 258 million children and youth still do not attend school; 617 million children and adolescents cannot read and do basic math, and some four million children and youth refugees are out of school. Their right to education is being violated and it is unacceptable.

There are a billion reasons why we all #LocalGuides must do everything it takes to #PowerEducation and leave nobody behind!

Education is like the magic wand for me. Growing up in a developing country, I have seen the dire necessity of a good education and how it has an impact on lives. That makes me more passionate about ensuring access to quality education.

Through my activities, I am trying to educate and enable school students, especially girls, in Innovation, Technology & Entrepreneurship. I am also working to ensure that all young people have access to quality education. I believe that Education can not wait and Education should be first.

As a passionate educator I am using Google maps for Helping students visualize and understand the world around them. Google Maps for Education provides resources to explore, create, and collaborate with mapping tools.

My dream includes a pledge that no one will be left behind.

Local Guide @IlankovanT working his initiative Google Maps towards Rural to educate school students. As a Local Guide what you are contributing to promote education, feel free to share on comments.

Thanks for sharing this post. Very true today also there are many kids don’t get education.

Here India they started Right for education school have give them seat in school .

In government school kids are given free education, food, free transportation so that kids come study.

Many teach kids on road. I also with my friends sponsor fees to kids, one is my helper child is one of them.

Here what raddi & plastic (which is recycled)is collected from my house goes to raddi connect the money 300-350 rs goes to girl child education.

My daughter used to teach drawing to slum kids but since 10 months it’s stop due pandemic.

We should extend our hands see every child get education.

This is such a great initiative @PavelSarwar

I do believe quality education is a basic right of all. As local guides, we can totally help children to understand geography along with our experiences and the help of Google. We can share our bits of knowledge to build the amazing skills of children.

@IlankovanT As a Educator I got the idea from you to use Google Maps and Street view to show students around the world. Under your school coders imitative i am running free coding classes for the age 6 to 16 years old students.
