Ans : It is a United Nations sanctioned international day for the promotion of biodiversity issues.

Q. Why do we celebrate International day for biodiversity? Ans : It is celebrated annually on May 22, commemorates the adoption of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) text on May 22, 1992. The day aims to raise awareness and understanding of biodiversity issues, as well as encourage support for the implementation of the CBD, its Protocols, and related action frameworks. It highlights the importance of biodiversity for life on Earth and the urgent need to address its decline, which is driven by various human activities like deforestation, climate change, and resource exploitation.

Q. What is CBD?

Excellent post on the occassion of International Day for Biological Diversity @Gouri.PS

Based on your hints, here’s one such park in Pune called the Birds’ Valley.

This place hosts a large variety of plants and birds as well.

The stone structure, like a pillar in the foreground, is a lamp-post.
Local guides in Pune visit such lamp posts and lit Diyas there in the evening - it looks amazing.

This flower is only for you. Although Bayer Leverkusen bought Monsanto which sells products harmfull to biodiversity we try to do as much as we can. Glyphosat kills insects and therefor biodiversity. But the Monsanto-Aquisition was a bad idea and Bayer now battles for it’s survival.
