Interesting thing done as a Local Guide? Experience of Foodographer!

After every busy week, the weekend starts with the usual households things to do. Woke up late, cleaning the house(yeah sometimes bathroom too), washing clothes, making brunch, etc. After brunch there will be a time for yourself when were the thoughts float between watching movie or get another nap or something you feel like doing. After doing things you like, then comes the evening with question, “Why can’t we go out?” Then you ask your partner “Hey, shall we go out for dinner?”. When the partner agree, “Oh yeah why not, lets go”.

Now comes the tough one where to do? After choosing the type of cuisine, check with digital mate, “Hey Google, what’s the best * cuisine near me?” “I found few * restaurants near you”, showing few results. Next even more tough one, picking the one you like. You look at the rating, thinking, hmmm… you could try this one, but how to know it is something you like?” Now, tab the Photos! Scroll and check photos… you see something, Oh my god this looks so good!. Here it gets easier and your thoughts decide to give a greet to your taste bud. You drive to the place, ask for the one in picture and enjoy the dinner. Such a wonderful weekend it is!

Yes, we are ones who help people to find the best food for themselves! The journey started to just capture the moment of having the food I like. But slowly the thought of helping others has become easy with technology.

Sydney is one of the multi-cultural city with diverse range of cuisines to choose from. Sometimes, it is hard to understand the title and contents of the food. I have personally struggled myself to pick the right one. Some people are confident to talk to the business and find the best one but some are not, if they choose something they don’t like, they never turn back. It is also an awkward situation to finish the food too. It is a big loss for business and customer satisfaction. Hence, I started adding food pictures in the google maps to make my nearby business happy and customer satisfied. Making the place better place to live with happy people around.

I was in search for a best south Indian restaurant in Sydney Central. There were some Indian restaurants, but there wasn’t any authentic south Indian one. I happen to know about a Malaysian restaurant which was serving a south Indian disk, roti(parotta) with chicken curry. It was a small shop with no proper advertisement. They don’t even accept card. I added the dish photo to help the community and now it is crossing more than thousand views. During lunch time, I did notice a good increase in the South-Indian people reaching out to the place. Pretty sure, it will help the customers and business.

Myself and my partner are big fans of desserts. We have searched for few places in the inner west of Sydney and shared the best ones. Couple of them, didn’t had enough advertisement again. The chef in “Thim Thai Restaurant” had a really good skills in preparation and decoration. But they were lagging the marketing skills which is paramount for such a restaurant. Our photos of the dessert crossed more than 27 thousands view and really made a good difference for their marketing. The chef was so happy and still I remember the special smiling face whenever we enter in. He was not able to communicate well in English, but we had a good intuitive connection more than language.

Another one in the top of list is the “Hi Thai” restaurant in Olympic park. A place to go for “Fried Ice Cream” in Inner West. The restaurants had tough times to maintain the dish due the internal changes, but apparently managed to serve the dessert due to the popularity. Till today, there are only couple of dessert photos for the restaurants which were posted by us. It is definitely a big pride to say we made a big difference.

Finally, on recommendation looking for options to add moving vans. There is a moving van that serves fried ice cream called “Duo Duo” which changes location based on demand.
