Hi!
For anyone wondering about the new-ish Insta360 One X 360 camera, and how the photos look, I’ve gone out and taken a few sample images for you to look at.
This first one is at a local park in the main gathering area.

This second one is up a hill at an OHV (Offroad Highway Vehicle) Staging area. There’s still some snow on the ground up there, so it was a fun drive.

Setting up and taking these pictures is incredibly fast and simple. The camera only has 2 buttons, one is power/selection and the other is Take Picture/Enter, so it’s very easy to operate. I use it remotely with my smartphone which is why you don’t see me in either of the pictures. The battery lasts for an hour or so, or that’s what they say, I’ve not drained mine completely yet. The stitching is very clean too. If you look closely you can see a tiny bit of fuzziness where the 2 images are stitched together, but if you’ve ever taken a 360 photo with your phone, you’ll notice that it does a considerably better job at combining the images cleanly.
Probably the coolest feature is its Street View integration. I’ve not done it yet because I need to get the GPS smart remote, but you can take 360 video and it automatically takes photo stills from your video and uploads them to Street View for you. No more taking a picture, walking 3 feet, taking a picture, walking 3 feet, taking a picture etc… Just take a video and it automatically tracks your movement and turns your video into photos ready for upload to Street View. It’s a massive time saver if that’s something you want to do as a guide.
I took a little bit of video today too but I’ve not taken a look at it yet. If it’s worth posting I’ll add on to this later. Let me know if you have any other questions about the camera or want to see any other specific shots with it!
Thanks!
